5. South Coast Talent Academy

The South Coast Talent Academy (SCTA), delivered by Havant Hockey Club under licence from England Hockey, is the home of the region’s most promising 15–18-year-old hockey players. It is a pivotal step on the journey towards representing England at U16 and U18 level, designed to unlock potential and inspire ambition.

At SCTA, athletes train in a high-performance environment shaped by experienced coaches and international players who understand what it takes to succeed at the highest level. Across a 40–44 week programme, players are challenged, supported, and developed through a blend of elite hockey training and holistic development. This includes individual player profiling, tailored development plans, nutrition guidance, sports science education, and consistent, high-quality feedback.

More than just a training programme, SCTA brings together driven athletes from clubs, schools, and county hockey across the South Coast to form a united, ambitious squad. It is an environment where lasting friendships are built, standards are elevated, and players grow not only as athletes, but as confident, resilient individuals ready to perform on bigger stages.

Selection into SCTA is both an honour and an opportunity. Players are nominated by schools and clubs and chosen through a rigorous process aligned with the England Hockey Player Profile—ensuring that those who enter the programme are ready to embrace the challenge and maximise their potential.
