Our best performance of the season secured a well-deserved victory over our opponents. South Berks dominated possession in the first half, but we defended solidly and when they did get through Martin Jones was in excellent form in goal. When we had the ball we used it effectively, and took the lead shortly before half time through Barry's well struck shot from the edge of the D. We thought we'd scored a second early in the second half, but after some delay it was disallowed, and shortly afterwards they equalised following a short corner. At that point they looked the more likely winners, but we rallied and scored our second from a flick after Steve Pawsey was taken out by their keeper. Barry's third was a reward for persistence, forcing the ball in after a run down the left, and with a two goal lead we were home and dry (the rain just about held off till later!). An excellent team perfformance, with all 11 players working really hard and playing some really good passing hockey to secure the win.
